Dycus, D.D.S., M.A.G.D.At Dr. Dycusâ office we work hard to make sure all of our restorative services are as cosmetically pleasing as professionally possible. The following are some of the restorative procedures we provide. Bonding Tooth Colored Fillings Porcelain Onlays Porcelain Crowns Permanent Bridges Implant Options Bonding: Teeth that are chipped, cracked, misaligned, or discolored can oftentimes be restored with bonding. A plastic putty-like resin is used to rebuild the teeth and shaped to their natural form. The resin is exposed to a bonding light that dries and hardens it. Then the tooth is smoothed and polished. Tooth Colored Fillings: Many patients choose to have us replace their old silver âamalgamâ fillings with modern white âcompositeâ fillings. There are several advantages to the white fillings. One advantage of white fillings is a more aesthetically pleasing appearance. They can also be less sensitive to temperatures, especially cold. The white fillings strengthen the tooth by chemically bonding to the tooth enamel. Porcelain Onlays: Beautiful and Conservative:Whatâs an onlay? Itâs a dentist-fabricated replacement of one or more cusps of your tooth. We provide this valuable service because we feel they are much more conservative than a full crown. They are beautiful, feel as natural as your own tooth and can last 15-20 years! Porcelain Crowns: Crowns are used to repair badly decayed, broken, discolored, or misaligned teeth. Crowns completely cover teeth, restoring them to their natural size, shape, and function. The location of the crown in the mouth usually dictates the type of material used. The tooth under the crown is reduced in size. The crown will be permanently cemented over the reduced tooth. While you are waiting for the permanent crown to be fabricated, your dentist will provide you with a temporary one to wear. Crowns have a much longer life span than bonding, resist stains better, hold their color and resist chipping and cracking. Crowns, however, take longer to prepare than bonding and are not reversible. Dr. Dycus can recommend which type of restoration is best for your particular situation. Permanent Bridges: Are you tired of your removable partial dentures? Ever thought about how great it would be to have your teeth back again? Bridges will do just that! Brush them, floss them and take care of them just like your natural teethâ¦.and get ready for that steak dinner! Implants: Long-lasting and Strong; Now your missing teeth in some cases may be replaced without using removable appliances with implants. Dr. Dycus can evaluate your condition to see if implants are right for you. Let us know if you are interested in having more information. ![]() ![]() |
